You Go Girl!

Good day to you my beautiful sisters. I say “good day” because it is exactly that. Today is a gift that we have never seen before, wrapped in an extraordinary package and tied with a magnificent bow! And I can hardly wait to open this beautiful package to see what is in store for me! Whatever it is, I know it will fit me perfectly. How about you?

We started a conversation during the introduction of “Sobfol” about LOVE and all that it stands for. Won’t you join me on this journey to explore the true meaning of LOVE found in the reading that was shared from the book of Corinthians? I would like to continue our “girl talk” with the focus word found in verse 4 which states “LOVE is patient and kind”.

As Black Females in today’s world, sometimes it seems that we’re in a long line waiting behind a lot of other people and a lot of other things just to get to our own idea of happy. We give and give of ourselves often placing EVERYBODY else in our lives in a position of extreme importance ahead of ourselves. We were born with the nature to nurture and this sometimes leaves us frustrated and empty. Sometimes even lonely. Can we really have it all? Can we have a great career doing something that we love and also share our lives with that special someone and have a family without losing ourselves? I say the answer is YES! The real question is…how? How do we make it all work? How can we keep from getting lost in the shuffle of Employee, Wife, Lover, Mother, Chauffer, Cook, Church Member, Choir Member, Committee Member, Bread Winner and somebody’s BFF? The answer to this question my dear sisters can be found in one word…PATIENCE.

Find your center. Always make time for you. Pray. Meditate. Praise! I promise that a quiet moment alone, preparing ourselves for the mystery that is today, will lead us to a divine place of PEACE and PATIENCE. Patience is a virtue. It makes us powerful. When you find patience, I’m a witness, kindness isn’t too far behind. Go get it Girls! Go get your blessing!!! Today is God’s gift to you.
