STRENGTHENING OUR BLACK FEMALES OUT OF LOVE

My name is Melissa Price a native of Flint, MI. I’m a married mother of 5, I attend Mt Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church where I enjoy hearing the word, singing in the choir and on the praise team. Being a woman of color, raising a beautiful black daughter I felt it was my charge to show her how we as women can empower others and ourselves through positive interaction. I also wanted desperately to see all black females unite in sisterhood.   I’ve always heard the statement “angry black woman”, as many of us have, and I truly don’t believe we are just angry for no reason, it’s usually centered on love; or the lack there of. This is primarily what compelled me to look for an outreach in which I could strengthen using love as the primary resource, thus spawn “SOBFOL”.
